Art hot spot Venice: Julian Schnabel for Maybach
21 June 2011Like no other city in the world, Venice is a masterpiece itself. All the glamorous palaces and buildings embody pure luxury and art in every detail. A fact that links also the Maybach brand, famous all around the world for its luxury cars, with the city of the lagoons. Every single Maybach saloon is the epitome of master craftsmanship, timeless elegance and exclusivity: three features that contribute to set Maybach as a brand leader in luxury cars’world.
In this respect, Venice is the ideal setting to host the retrospective “Permanently Becoming and the Architecture of Seeing” by the worldwide famous American artist Julian Schnabel, staged at Museo Correr and sponsored by Maybach. The collaboration between Julian Schnabel and Maybach was initiated already in 2010.
Alongside the exhibition, Schnabel´s latest work which he realised together with his protégé Vahakn Arslanian was presented during the Art Biennale days: “The Ones You Didn't Write – The Maybach Car” is a special Maybach saloon designed by the two artists. The idea for this art work was born in the context of the Wilhelm and Karl Maybach Foundation’s Mentoring Programme, whose mission of mentoring young artists was happily espoused by Julian Schnabel.
